Sanctorum started from one question: what if an agent's power came from where it sits in an organization, rather than from how it was written?
The story
Most agent frameworks attach capability to the agent definition. Roles are prompt strings, and the “permission model” is flavour text a model can choose to ignore. If an agent has a shell tool, it has a shell.
Sanctorum borrows its model from identity and access management instead. A role is a job, defined once. A position is a seat. An agent is whoever holds the seat — and the tool grant is computed from all three at run time, then enforced in the execution layer where the model cannot reach.
Even the starting cast makes the argument: fifteen characters, every one at clearance 1, none holding a seat. Seeding capable agents would contradict the thing the app is for.

Our mission
Govern agents the way organizations govern people: by position, with oversight, enforced outside the model.
Plenty of things orchestrate agents. Almost nothing gates them with a permission model borrowed from IAM. “Governance” is the honest word, because the gate is enforced rather than requested.
